Can I work with Turning Point Accounting Services on just one aspect of my accounting system?Generally, yes. Some of our clients simply want us to set up their accounting system then they will take over the monthly accounting function, but still utilize our accounting advisory services should issues arise. Others want us to do the system implementation then take over the monthly accounting function so they can focus on growing their business and not worry about handling the monthly accounting themselves or managing an in-house bookkeeper or accountant. Whatever your needs are, we have you covered.

Can you help me track the financial performance of my business?Yes, each month we can help you interpret your financial reports in order to better understand the overall performance of your business(s) and improve outcomes.

Do you provide payroll services?At this time, we are not offering payroll services. If you are in interested in payroll services, we can refer you to reputable providers who specialize in this area. Contact us today for more information.

Can you help file 1099s?Yes, we can help file 1099s.

Can Turning Point Accounting Services prepare and file my tax returns?At this time, we are not offering tax return preparation. However, our monthly full cycle services provide our clients with a set of financial statements that are ready for your tax accountant. We can also communicate with your tax accountant throughout the year to provide financial information (e.g. quarterly estimated tax payments). If you are in interested in tax return preparation services, we can refer you to reputable CPAs who specialize in this area. Contact us today for more information.

What is the cost of your accounting and bookkeeping services?We offer flat fee pricing for most of our services. Turning Point Accounting Services offers discounted services for business owners who are military veterans, active duty members, and first responders. Will you replace my current bookkeeper or accountant?If you engage us for monthly full-cycle services, generally yes.

My books are a mess and have not been updated in a while, can and does Turning Point Accounting Services help me get up to date?In most cases, yes we can perform a clean up of your records/books.

What is my level of involvement if I work with Turning Point Accounting Services on monthly bookkeeping?The goal of our monthly bookkeeping services is to make it as stress-free as possible for you, the client. We will communicate with you on a as-needed basis to obtain context on certain transactions that can't otherwise be categorized without your input. We strive to learn from these interactions in order to reduce the time you need to spend on this step. In many cases, we've had clients delegate this responsibility to an assistant, office manager, or another staff member, further reducing the amount of time owners need to spend on this process. All that said, our team is available for you via email support, and by phone/Zoom upon request.

What software do you work with?We use QuickBooks Online (QBO) as the accounting system that we implement and/or manage for our clients.

Am I committed to a contract or length of time when I start with Turning Point Accounting Services?No. While we do ask you sign an engagement letter just agreeing to the services and terms of payment, we do not lock you into a certain amount of time. We just kindly ask that if you decide to stop your services at any point, you give us a 30 day notice.

What is the difference between an Discovery and a Kick-Off Call?Generally, we meet with potential clients for a FREE 30 minute initial discovery call to learn more about their situation. If we can help, and if both parties believe it makes sense to work together then we will host a kick-off call where we discuss client expectations, collect additional information or documents required to kick-off the engagement after we've decided it makes sense to work together and have a signed engagement agreement in place.
